Professional wrestling star The Miz has joined the cast of a Christmas movie that will air on U.S. television next year, ABC Family announced.

The Miz, whose real name is Mike Mizanin, will star in "Christmas Bounty," an action comedy that will be part of ABC Family's Christmas programming in 2013.

The story involves a former bounty hunter who tracks down one final fugitive when she goes home for the holidays.

The Miz has done some television work outside the ring. He appeared on MTV's "The Real World" and "The Marine 3: Homefront," a production of WWE Studios, The Hollywood Reporter said.

WWE Studios is an arm of the WWE wrestling production company.
