Paul Michael Glaser said he would contest his recent arrest in Kentucky for smoking marijuana.
The star of the 1970s television series "Starsky and Hutch" appeared in court last week to answer to misdemeanor charges of possession of pot and drug paraphernalia stemming from his May 10 citing by police at a Bowling Green hotel.
A lawyer entered a not-guilty plea on behalf of Glaser in Warren District Court. A pretrial conference was scheduled for Oct. 22, the Bowling Green (Ky.) Daily News said.
The newspaper said Glazer, 69, Los Angeles, had reportedly been seen smoking marijuana near the elevator bank at the hotel. A subsequent search of his room turned up a pipe with alleged marijuana residue in it.
Glazer, who played Starsky in the popular police drama, was in Bowling Green to promote his new children's book, the newspaper said.
