Reese Witherspoon sues Star Magazine for invasion of privacy
UPI News Service, 06/22/2006
Reese Witherspoon filed a lawsuit against Star Magazines parent company, American Media Inc., for invasion of privacy.
The June 26 cover of Star Magazine features both a picture of Witherspoon and Julia Roberts, announcing in large print: "Reese & Julia -- Baby #3!" Zap2it,com reported Thursday.
"Contrary to the fabricated Cover Story," the lawsuit states "the true facts are that (Reese) is not pregnant, does not have a 'baby bump' and has not otherwise gained weight such that she has had to resort to wearing 'Empire-waist dresses,' 'baggy clothing,' or an 'old-fashioned 1920s bathing suit.'"
While American Media claims the story only asked the question, the actress' people insist the tabloid blatantly lied.
