Actress Renee Zellweger released a statement saying the "fraud" she cites in her annulment petition against Kenny Chesney is "simply legal language."
The Oscar-winning actress filed the annulment petition in Los Angeles this week, seeking an end to her four-month marriage to the country star.
Zellweger released a statement Friday asking media not to speculate on the meaning of the word fraud in her petition because it is "simply legal language and not a reflection of Kenny's character," E! Online reported.
Zellweger, 36, and Chesney, 37, wed May 9 in the Virgin Islands after a five-month courtship.
Chesney was on tour throughout much of their brief marriage.
