The first winner of Donald Trump's reality show, "The Apprentice," says he's quitting the job he won when his contract runs out in March.

Bill Rancic, who has been working for Trump in Chicago since winning the reality TV contest in 2004, told a Malaysian audience Wednesday he was ready to head back out on his own, E! Online reported Thursday.

"I'm going to go out and start another business of my own. That's in my blood," Rancic told the Foundation for the Future's Global Leadership Forum in Kuala Lumpur Wednesday.

Rancic said Trump has taken him under his wing and given him a look at the "highest levels" of the business world and he expressed confidence in the tutoring job performed by his mentor.

"In the years to come, I hope there will be Bill Rancic Towers right alongside Trump Towers," he said.
