Actress and hotel heiress Paris Hilton has accepted a marriage proposal from her boyfriend of five months, Greek shipping heir Paris Latsis.

Latsis, 22, popped the question Wednesday when Hilton, 24, returned to her Hollywood Hills home from a three-week promotional tour in Europe for her new line of fragrances and her horror film, "House of Wax."

Hilton's publicist, Rob Shuter, told People magazine the "happy and excited" couple celebrated their engagement with a barbecue for about 75 friends and family at their Hollywood Hills home Sunday.

A wedding date has not been set.

Latsis didn't propose with a ring, but USA Today said he had arranged for a specialist in antique jewelry to visit the couple at Hilton's home Tuesday with nearly 25 specimens for them to examine.
