Singer Britney Spears has launched a tirade against reports that she's pregnant and fighting with her new husband, MTV.com said Thursday.

Spears wrote an open letter on her Web site to two publications -- Us Weekly and Star -- suggesting their employees were the ones who are overweight and called them "desperate magazines" and "false tabloids."

The two publications reported Spears is three months pregnant, noting her expanding breasts and abdomen. They also claimed she is at odds with her husband of six months, Kevin Federline, over having children.

Spears joked in Allure's April cover story that the extra pounds are the "honeymoon after-effect" of "just lounging around and eating and lying out" during the early days of her marriage.

Both Star and Us Weekly issued statements insisting they stand by their reporting.
