Scifi Channel to "podcast" 'Battlestar Galactica' episodes

The Sci Fi Channel plans to conclude its first U.S. season of "Battlestar Galactica" with DVD-style audio commentaries.

Known as podcasting, the MP3 format is available on Sci Fi's Web site and is meant to be watched in tandem with "Battlestar Galactica" episodes leading up to the already renewed drama's April 1 season finale, Zap2it.com said Wednesday.

Podcasting merges the basic principles of a radio broadcast with Apple's iPod, the market's most recognizable digital audio player. Users can download broadcasts in the MP3 format and then transfer them to their MP3 players.
