Kent State University Press said Thursday it would publish the 500-page work based on Hemingway's memories of a 1930s safari in Kenya under the title, "Under Kilamanjaro."

The book originally was published six years ago with the title, "True at First Light: A Fictional Memor," by Scribner of New York, and was on the New York Times best-seller list for four weeks. That version was 319 pages.

The book was one of Hemingway's last unpublished manuscripts before it was published by Scribner in 1999. Nearly 200 pages were edited out by Hemingway's son, Patrick, for the Scribner version, which received lukewarm critical reviews.

Three Hemingway works have been published since the author's suicide in 196l including "Garden of Eden" and "The Dangerous Summer," as well as "True First Light."

The Kent State book is being published with the approval of Hemingway's heirs.
