A quadriplegic lawyer from St. Louis, Mo., has filed a federal lawsuit against Donald Trump's TV show "The Apprentice," saying it is discriminatory.

In the suit filed in St. Louis, James Schottel Jr. seeks an injunction to halt auditions for the show, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

The suit claims the show is only a protracted job interview and its audition rules demanding "excellent physical" health are discriminatory.

Schottel wants a preliminary injunction to block the show from holding contestant interviews scheduled Friday in St. Louis until his case is heard.

Beyond that, he wants an order that he "and others similarly situated" be considered for the program, the report said.

"I'm a fan of the show, and I'm a fan of Mr. Trump, and I don't think he would support any kind of discrimination," said Schottel.

A Trump spokeswoman referred questions to Mark Burnett Productions LLC, a Los Angeles company that produces the show and is a co-defendant in the suit. A Mark Burnett spokesman did not return calls, the newspaper said.
