Czech supermodel Petra Nemcova is out of a Prague hospital after being treated for serious injuries suffered during December's tsunami in Thailand.

The 25-year-old survived the disaster as it hit a resort at Phuket by clinging to a floating tree for eight hours despite having a fractured pelvis and internal injuries. Her boyfriend, photographer Simon Atlee, who was with her, is missing and presumed dead.

Nemcova spent two weeks in a Thai hospital and was then flown to the Prague facility, where she made a rapid recovery, the World Entertainment News Network said Thursday.

She is now recuperating in a mountain chalet owned by her grandfather in her home town of Karvina, where her father said she is now able to climb stairs.
