Tenor Luciano Pavarotti loves to walk on the beach with his family at their Barbados villa, but at 350 pounds things can be complicated.
Because of his immobility, Pavarotti was left on the terrace of his beachfront villa while his wife Nicoletta and two-year-old daughter Alice played in the sand nearby.
Marooned on what looked like a makeshift throne, the 69-year-old opera star could only look on as Nicoletta and Alice frolicked happily by the sea, the London Daily Mail said.
It was the sixth straight day he had failed to join his family on the beach during their holiday.
Neighbors said Pavarotti actually had to be lowered down the wooden steps from his villa to the terrace using a winch and harness. It took two of the villa's strapping staff in tug-of-war pose to hold him back as he made his way down the steps.
